THIS IS BEHIND THE CURTAIN

WHY BEHIND THE
CURTAIN EXISTS.

THE STORY BEHIND B.T.C

Built through sport. Created for the athlete behind the performance.

Behind the Curtain was born from a simple realization: we spend countless hours training the athlete everyone sees, but very little time training the person nobody sees.

My life has always revolved around competition and the pursuit of becoming better.

Golf taught me that physical talent only takes you so far. You can have the swing. You can put in the practice. You can know exactly what shot you need to hit. But when you’re standing over the ball with pressure on you, the battle becomes mental. Confidence, patience, emotional control, and the ability to move on from mistakes can completely change your performance.

Endurance sports taught me that lesson on an entirely different level.

Through ultramarathon running and Ironman training, I began to understand just how powerful the mind can be. There are moments when your body is exhausted, you’re alone with your thoughts, and quitting would be easier than continuing. There is no crowd cheering. No highlight reel. No one sees the early mornings, the missed opportunities, the self-doubt, the fear of failure, or the internal conversations that happen when you’re trying to push beyond what you previously believed you were capable of.

Those experiences changed the way I looked at athletes.

I realized that behind every performance is another competition taking place.

The one inside the athlete’s mind.

Athletes are taught how to become faster, stronger, more skilled, and more physically prepared. They have coaches for technique, strength, nutrition, recovery, and conditioning.

But who’s training the person behind all of it?

Who’s helping athletes develop confidence when it’s gone?

Who’s teaching them how to respond when they fail?

Who’s helping them manage pressure when expectations become overwhelming?

Who’s teaching them how to stay disciplined when motivation disappears?

Who’s helping them understand who they are when their identity becomes completely tied to their performance?

Those questions became the foundation for Behind the Curtain.

I wanted to create something I wish more athletes had access to: a place where training your mind is treated with the same seriousness as training your body.

Not because something has to be wrong with you.

Because becoming a better athlete requires developing the person performing underneath the jersey, behind the clubs, on the starting line, or alone during the miles nobody else sees.

My goal with B.T.C. is bigger than helping athletes win another game, shoot a lower score, run a faster race, or cross another finish line.

I want to help create better athletes by developing stronger people.

Athletes who understand themselves.

Athletes who can handle pressure.

Athletes who respond to adversity instead of being defined by it.

Athletes who are confident without needing constant validation.

Athletes who can fail, learn, and come back stronger.

Athletes who understand that their performance matters—but their identity extends far beyond a result.

Because eventually, the race ends. The round finishes. The season is over. The crowd goes home.

And you’re left with the person behind the performance.

That’s the person we’re here to develop.

That’s why I created Behind the Curtain.
