The tunnel is quiet. The competition is not. Somewhere between those two places, you feel the weight of what matters to you. That feeling does not mean you are unprepared.
Instead of making calm a requirement, make your next action clear. You can feel nervous and still execute a practiced routine. You can care deeply and still focus on the task.
Bring manageable pressure into training: a timed effort, a scored drill, a teammate watching. Practice your reset in those moments. Keep the challenge appropriate to your level and work with your coach.
Afterward, ask a useful question: what did I do when the pressure arrived? Notice the response, learn from it, and practice again. Pressure is part of the game. Your response can be part of your training.
